About

Hello, It’s About Me

My Story

Hello, my name is Sandra

I am the founder of Nut Blossom Apothecary.

Plant medicine is a humbling and grounding path where I embraced my deep longing for the Land, its wonders and inhabitants. Every day is a journey of trust, observing and listening amidst the falls, doubts and the fears. I witness nature in its raw, brutal, unfair, yet soft and deeply loving, nurturing form. I keep being in awe of the power of herbal medicine.

I am now on my last year of training with Heartwood school of herbal medicine with the hopes to become a medical herbalist and support you in your health journey.

I am very intrested in social justice and in making herbal medicine available for all. I hope to share my passion and offerings soon.

My journey

Budding herbalist

I am a forager, an artist and a home herbalist living in Dunfermline, Fife. My home is full of concoctions (and experimentations) as I make our family herbal staples to keep us healthy throughout the year. I share my knowledge and explorations with my toddler apprentice (and my very patient partner). It is a way of being and life for us.

I am delighted to live so close to beautiful parks and landscapes, rich in plant medicine history (remembering the witches aka home and community herbalists, Lady Anne Halckett caring for the soldiers during the ongoing civil war and many medicinal plant gardens) and beauty but also full of delicious and medicinal botanicals!

Journey began

My connection to the land deepened once I started exploring the bounty of plant medicine and tuning to the rhythms of nature. I love to unearth some the potentials of plant/lichen/mushroom/seaweed worlds from my own forays, to courses from Grassroots remedies cooperative to the certificate and diploma of the Royal Botanical Garden of Edinburgh. I am now on my last year of training with Heartwood school of herbal medicine with the hopes to become a medical herbalist.

My background

I have trained and worked as a biologist and ecologist, fascinated by the various ecosystems, the outdoors and the interconnectedness of life.
